Coding with Kids: Scratch & Little Coders | 6 - 12 years*
*Campers will be split into two groups: 6 - 7 and 8-12
6-7 years: Little Coders
Our Little Coders camp is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! The curriculum is designed specifically for early readers and takes into account cognitive abilities as well as the attention span typical for ages 6-7. We use age-appropriate online tools, including Lightbot, Kodable, and Scratch to introduce basic coding skills. After the camp, students will be able to share their projects with family and friends and continue programming at home with their Coding with Kids Scratch account.
8-12 years: Scratch—Intro to Game Development
Create your own games and embark on a coding adventure! This course introduces students to
coding using Scratch, a fun drag-and-drop coding environment. They will learn coding
fundamentals like Variables, Loops, and Conditionals while unleashing their creativity by
designing characters, creating scenes, and adding sounds. Students will apply these concepts
to build exciting games, stories, and animation projects, including Pet and Ball, Shark and Fish,
and Snowman Maze. Let's code the fun way together!

Calling all young Minecrafters! Unleash your creativity while customizing your beloved game,
Minecraft! Using an age-appropriate drag-and-drop coding environment, young students will
learn fundamental coding concepts like Sequence and Loops. They'll apply these skills to create
exciting projects, such as building their own zoo, aquarium, dazzling diamond house, and even
code a magic wand to summon animals and items. Get ready to embark on a journey to code
your very own Minecraft mods!
8-12 years: Intro Minecraft Modding
Calling all Minecrafters! Join us in this course to build Minecraft mods (modifications) while
learning coding. With a drag-and-drop coding environment, students learn coding concepts,
such as Variables, Conditionals, and Loops. They apply the concepts to personalize the game
with custom world maps, new items, chat commands, and mini-games! It will be an exciting
journey of coding and creativity!
Class Requirement: All students must have a Minecraft Java Edition license before the first
