FIBER ARTS

Youth Beginner Sewing: Pillowcase | #6345
5 weeks | 9-14 years

Let your personality shine through with a custom pillowcase. Great for sleepovers, lazing on the couch or matching the decor of your bedroom. Projects introduce both hand sewing and machine stitching. Students will learn to cut fabric, use a needle and thread, pins, and an iron. They will explore embroidery stitches and learn the basics of using a sewing machine. Students may also add embellishments to customize their work.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Student-supplied materials are needed for this class. Students must bring these supplies with them on their first day of class. The list of needed materials will be emailed to students after enrollment.

SEWING MACHINES: Students are encouraged to bring a portable machine if one is available to them. Those without machines will share the instructor's machines.

Fiber Art and Sewing classes are designed for beginners and those wishing to improve basic skills. Class size is small to increase individual attention from the instructor. Classes can be taken in any order to explore new projects and build skills.
